Am i being shilled?

Hello

Hoping some of you might be able to help me with this.. bit confused, but maybe i'm being paranoid

I've been bidding on this dress:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Style-Laura-Lees-Label-Dress-size-Small_W0QQitemZ230130400577QQihZ013QQcategoryZ314QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

but noticed today that the price has been steadily going up over the course of the week, following a number of bids from users roadmunky( 1 feedback) and dianabshahfar(0 feedback). I'm not sure why but something just looked odd to me, so i had a look at the sellers other items and all of them have bids on from one or other, or both of these users. Does this look like shilling to anyone? I'm not really expert enough at ebay to work out how you tell.

Not really sure what to do, I like the dress but if there's something odd going on I'd rather walk away from it.

both those bidders are also registered in Midlothian...

roadmunkys 1 feedback was in 2002

I personally would give it a miss....
  • contact the buyer make final offer, and tell them to take it or leave it.

Yes I think you can safely say the auction has been shilled the three names have regularly come together in at least seven auctions, or it might just be coincidence!
I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes.

Think it's time to walk away. Thanks very much for the advice.

I had this problem as well with an item I was bidding on this year - make sure you report them to ebay as well - stop anyone less savvy than yourself being taken for a ride by these cheats! Glad you haven't been caught out! :j

I've reported them, I don't know if it'll make much difference since they'll presumably just start up another new account, but at least I've tried?

Boo hoo.. no pretty dress for me!

Hmmm, maybe if you learn the value of bidding just once - your max figure that you are prepared to bid and preferably in the last few seconds this wouldn't happen.

a tip for you. My technique is to bid within the last minute at my max. price plus 2p! this way if someone's max bid is the same as yours you will beat them by 2p and win. At first I started bidding max plus 1p but i noticed a few other bidders were doing this so went up to 2p and sometimes 3p.
    shhhh its a secret though!

well then your max price is £20.03 isn't it? I often put weird addition like this but normally like 27p or 53p - something to outbid all you people with your 1-3p's ;)
