Scottish Power mistakenly sends prepayment card?
Options
Just wondering if anyone has any clue.
I just moved in a new (rented) flat so just did the normal thing and called Scottish Power (on Monday 29/04) to tell them I have just moved in. My landlord told me he has just signed up for Online Saver which will come into play 24 May.
Today I received a prepayment card.:huh::huh::huh::huh:
Problems:
Could it be a mistake? I am very concerned that I will suddenly get my utility cut off.

Problems:
- The meter in the flat is a normal meter. It doesn't have the prepayment card slot.
- My landlord didn't sign up for any Prepayment plan - neither did I.
- The mail addressed to me by my last name only. It's the first time I see that. Every single bill / correspondence I ever had has my full name at the address box.
Could it be a mistake? I am very concerned that I will suddenly get my utility cut off.

Well this is the kind of situation where you need to call Scottish Power and ask what's going on. Sounds like a simple mistake. If they are unhelpful then advice can be provided on this forum but otherwise we'd just be guessing.0

How did you get on?
Why did the LL just sign up to Online Saver and why won't it start until 24th May? You will have the choice of any tariff.
Or are you saying the LL has just applied to switch supplier to Scottish Power?
If so, then Scottish Power would not be the current supplier, so you'll need to contact the current supplier. This could get very messy ... :cool:0 -
Testdasi, this sounds as if there is a glitch in the information sent over from the old supplier about the meter details. Please don't worry you are definitely not about to be cut off. Can you e-mail your details to social@scottishpower.com and we will investigate? Thanks David“Official Company Representative

We purchased an apartment supplied by e-on and switched to scottish power as we will not be moving in until our current home has been sold (and Sp did not charge monthly fees) . This happened in May. We were badgered by Scottish power to provide meter readings only to find out at the end of August (after getting a bill from e-on, which was paid by DD), that even though we had been paying Sp £46 per month since May, that Sp had the wrong meter number and we had been paying someones elses bill. Sp said they would refund all money we had paid, BUT we asked them to pay the monthly fees we were being charged by e-on (which we were told by Sp that they had cancelled). Getting nowhere, what can we do???0

Why is your landlord sticking their nose into things that have nothing to do with them?
Sounds like your whole tennancy is gonna be a nightmare.0 -
