A quick question, has your deposit been appropriately protected?
Hi, thanks for your interest.
I have volunteered to find them a new tenant if they agree to let me stay until end of July as I am training to be a teacher and end of June is the end of my course and it would be a little too much.
My leaving would be agreed by all parties and the contract terminated.
They said yes based on what the Managing Agents say but obviously want references for future tenant, I have said, as I did when I moved in, the new tenant could pay £200 admin fee to cover that cost, they cannot seem to understand this as the Letting Agency charged them £400 and me £200 and they have no knowledge of my paying the £200.
They say that if they have to pay ANYTHING during this process then it will come out of my deposit. The deposit is in the government deposit protection scheme.
I have asked them what the Managing Agents are saying will happen to them if they inform them, for argument's sake, that I am refusing to go until the end of my contract. They aren't happy with that and I can see why, I'm just thinking of telling them:
I am staying until end of contract
I will pay promptly
Keep the place in good order, clean, tidy
The dog will continue to NOT be a nuisance
and just leave it at that and see what they do.
I'm not worried about references.
I am worried that if they try to evict me and they incur charges for that, that they will then withhold that from my deposit.
I have no worry about damage to the place, in the unlikely event that there is any damage I will fix it or happily have that out of my deposit.
I actually have a problem with the water heater but dare not ask them to fix it!
I hope that is clearer.0 -
You must at least tell them about your water heater problem, even if you don't want it fixed, or they can add that on as something you broke during the tenancy and charge you for!!0
