PC Repair Programmes Con!!!!

2 months ago I purchased Registry Fix as It diagnosed 350 errors on my system that could be repaired. The errors were cleared but my PC performance is no better. It is very slow and often programmes do not respond. Despite several more instructions from Registry Fix, nothing has improved. When I run it now it tells me it will repair 2 errors or that I have no errors at all.
An ad popped up for a "free" RegCure diagnostic download which at the end said I had 750 errors and I could purchase a programme to remove them!
To say I was amazed is an understatement.
Are all these Repair Programmes a con!!!!

Yes they are a con, most of them will just do stuff like clear your cookies and temp files, maybe quick clean up of the registery and defragment your drive

All of this you can do from windows without getting any additional software, with the exception maybe of Spyware removals (which you can get free anyway)

The giveaway is when a box pops up claiming an all in one solution for a fee.

Everything it does is available for free as aj3001 said.

Thank you Browntoa the link seems to have worked. It took 6 hours for checking, is this normal?
I may even ask Registryfix for my £20 back and purchase this one!!!

    yes...it can take that long

glad you seem to be sorted , that 1-click program will keep working, just makes you wait longer and longer after the 30 days before you can run it

I seem to have done something wrong when trying the one click maintenance.
My screen filled with boxes saying External exeption C000001D and I could not close it so I had to reboot. Please could you tell me the exact sequence to use as when I open the link, I get lost. Sorry to take up so much of your time Browntoa!
