Prospective card tart seeks advice

in Credit cards
Hi
I just need a bit of advice before applying for a new card. I sold my house about 15 months ago and have been living with a friend but not registered with the local authority. I suspect that if I apply for a new card this will come up on their search and will score points against me. Is this correct and how long will it damage my record as I am now buying a new house.
TIA
Mr T

Apply to Equifax and Experian for your credit files (£2 each) and you sehould see what your history look like. Not registering with the local authority is not a problem, it is the Electoral Register that is used for address verification. I take it you are not planning to vote if you are not on the voters roll?0

does applying to the credit reference agencies in itself cause a "footprint" to appear on a person's record, when it is next viewed by a CC company etc?

No. They do record that you made a request (which you will see on the report) but nobody else will see it.0

Thanks for the advice. Having a quick look at the Equifax & Experian sites online there was nothing about a report being available for £2, is there somewhere else I should apply for this?
No, I won't be voting this time as Im not on the register and I have to say that none of what I have heard so far tempts me to change this!
Cheers
