But this was ages ago i read that, maybe he has decided since to leave them with nowt?
you get my point tho, and you missed my main point, arguments and resentment regardless of how 'fair' you are with setting up your kids beit financially, accomodation, education - so best to do nothing imo!

well, you can make a reasonable attempt to be fair. and then you can also try to teach them that there's no such thing as perfect fairness, because everybody's circumstances are different, though there is sometimes such a thing as blatant unfairness. everything can be educational!

Nope, didn't miss you point and do disagree to a point. I have 3 boys, one eldest and twins younger.

They all got the same, from the same date. The eldest may work out with more, as all his wasn't spent on UNI, but the twins might be (as prices have increased and there are 2 of them so we are not lavish).

but they all will graduate debt free from Uni (remember student loans are more now- 6.6% going down to 6.3%) will have some cash in their pocket. But, if they move back home, they will pay rent.

If they dare to resent THAT, then they can get lost lol.

Perhaps you could save up in one pot to buy them both something of the same thing, like you pay for their driving lessons and first years insurance for example.

That way it doesn't really matter what you spend on them, they both get the same thing. It shouldn't matter if the costs vary as it won't matter to them. They will think it's fair.
