Take a look on etsy sometimes. Lots of stuff being sold there by 'artists' for thousands of dollars and most I would actually pay someone to come and take away.

There used to be a great forum called 'regretsy' that mocked some of the stuff (and i'm not just talking poor art work I am talking  ) but I think they got fed up of being harrassed by poor needy little artists who want public acclaim.

Of course, we won't be laughing so much when he gets his own exhibition at the Tate Modern!

Actually, this is better than most things in the Tate Modern.

...No, I mean seriously, it is!

Ever though of painting a canvas with a couple of stripes? Nobody would pay money for it, let alone millions, would they? ... Now look up the name Mark Rothko and prepare to be amazed!

Looks like they have been raiding the bins at the local primary school.

At the risk of being pedantic, I just had to step in to defend Rothko! His skill is not in painting stripes, it is in the way he makes one colour look as though it is floating above the other or sunk behind it. They really are outstanding pieces (saw exhibition a couple or three years ago), huge and like I say, the use of colour is breathtaking.

It's better than most of what gets called "art" these days. Hope it sells!
