Quick question about overdraft.

I'm a bit new to all this, so bear with me. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I was paid yesterday, enough to clear my overdraft. I went to the ATM this morning and my balance hadn't changed but the 'you can withdraw' bit was changed, so I know I've been paid and the money is in there.

My boss did pay quite late in the day, so I'm just curious whether it takes a day for the 'new' balance to come into effect.

Thanks!

Can you give example of the numbers? I assume the available balance is different but I give a guess of how or why without more information.

But in general, if you've been paid then the available balance should raise by that much. It doesn't usually take a day unless your actual pay day isn't today but tomorrow.

    Hi

My balance was 184.45DR (I have a £200 overdraft) and the available withdrawal amount was £120, which does correspond to how much I should be getting paid.

That's why I was a bit confused, I assumed it would change immediately.
