Hi, the washing machines at the property I rent out has gone, the LA's are in touch with local dealer and I can get a Beko for £200, that includes plumbing it in and taking the old one away. I think it's not a bad deal what do you think?
thanks
thanks

Don't touch a Beko is my advise, ours was awful and due to a number of breakdowns in a 2 year period was taking to the dump.
I have gone back to using a good brand (Hotpoint for me) that has been professionally reconditioned which you'll pick up for around £100 and this has lasted me well over 4 years now with no problems at all.0 -
I hit lucky when I walked into a charity shop that did furniture/goods and found an unbelievably cheap (and new looking) machine priced at £90, the same price as the dated/shabby ones in the rest of the row for that price. £20 to deliver (I had none to take away) - and I had to plumb it in myself (came as a shock, but I did it and it's not leaked once). Mine's an Indesit IWB51230

thanks both, the problem is I do not live local to my rental property, I may be able to get a cheaper washing machine online but I don't think they take them away or plum them in do they?
I just had a quick look at reviews of the cheaper Beko machines and most were ok. But I don't want to buy a c*ap make0 -

How about looking at somewhere like Curry’s, they do delivery and installation for £20, and you can have your pick of manufacturers, and if it goes wrong you have somewhere to complain.0 -
I have to echo Ghostrider, I have had nothing but trouble with all Beko appliances I have bought and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. If you possibly can, buy any other brand, but not them!Spam Reporter Extraordinaire

Most online companies will install the new machine and dispose of the old one for an extra charge. If not you can always look for a local plumber to do the installation, and investigate if the council will take the old machine away for a fee (it would have to be left outside, of course).
I'd recommend looking for a machine with a long warranty, maybe even getting one of the debit or credit cards that give you a free extra year's warranty.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

It's the luck of the draw. My daughter recently bought a new Hotpoint washing machine and it broke down twice in the first six months. I've had a Beko fridge freezer for many years without any problems. It's someone else's fault.0 -
OK thanks all, seems Beko is not a good make, if I can get something better for same cost I will go with that as by the time you add delivery and plumbing in on top there is not a lot of difference in cost it seems0

My Beko washing machine is excellent, I bought it (from boots.com) based partly on the price and spec, but also on the very good reviews it had. I also bought a Beko fridge for the flat that I rented out which never had any problems.0

I don't think fridges are a fair comparison to washing machines guys...they dont break down anywhere near as much as washing machines for good reason too.
I'll stick with my Hotpoint, had 2 in the past, one secondhand cost me £50 and lasted about 5 years with no problems at all and the second is a refurb like I said before, had a few years with no issue so far.
So thats 2 Hotpoint washing machines, total cost to me of £150 with a life span of about 9 years
Beko cost me £220 and lasted 2 years....0
