I have to pay money in to the bank for a small charity, when I have part filled bags or odd amounts to pay in I just keep the money and write a personal cheque to cover it.
As long as you are paying the correct amount in it doesn't really matter how it goes into the bank and it means I always have change for school dinners, bus fairs etc.Every Penny's a Prisoner.

I too have had this problem with Santander but not with other banks. I find LloydsTSB to be the best for my needs. It often feels like Santander are just playing at being a bank!0
