Removing Overdraft - Effect on Credit Rating?

I've got a current account I'm still using as a secondary account, but don't need the £4000 overdraft limit it's got.

Is removing the overdraft facility going to have any impact (positive or negative) on my credit rating?

I know it'll report that the limit has gone to £0, but surely the credit agencies won't know whether I requested its' removal, or if it was taken away from me for being a poor risk? (Which I'm not!)

The important issue is that you no longer have access to it. Removal of an used credit facility will ultimately have a positive effect.

It's only - potentially - relevant if you need a loan or mortgage any time soon. Otherwise it doesn't matter a jot.
