Small claim - evicted tenant

Options
I have recently taken a tenant to court in order to evict them from my property. We won the case and they were evicted, however they owed a large rental bill of around £4000, without the court costs of around £2500. Can I now go through small claims in order to try and recoup some of these monies. Is it true that the govt set a side funds to cover this? Also what would the costs be to me. Thanks

???? you mean to cover your court costs? No. To pay on behalf of your tenants? :rotfl:

    Court fees.

Small Claims (up to £10K) Track.

Do your ex tenants have any funds? If not, you may win,but receive nothing.

Do you know where they have gone? You'll need to.

Yes you can. See also the guidance from the Courts Service itself, on how to enforce a judgement should the Ts not cough up in the time granted by the court - available here and here

Why would the Govt set aside taxpayers money to cover the costs of a LL's civil case (or anyone else's for that matter)?

The Courts Service have a pdf on Court Fees - you can of course seek recovery of these further court costs from the errant T but if the T is on a very limited income you may not see your money quickly or at all. The only "satisfaction" you will have is that your former T has a CCJ against their name.
