Oban area self-catering?

Can anyone help please?

Looking for 2 bed self-catering (cottage/house/caravan/lodge) on the west side of Loch Awe/Oban area so we can easily see Mull/Skye & surrounds.

Either recommendations or 'stay away from' gratefully recieved.

Any suggestions of must do's in the area welcome too, thanks (2 adults, 1 infant under 2yrs)

Depends when you're going. It's midge season from May to August so if holidaying then, you should probably try to get somewhere coastal rather than forest or loch-side (for the sea breezes).

I should point out that although you'd be close to Mull with your choice of location, it's quite a trek to reach Skye.

Thanks - it'll be 3rd - 10th August - we're up in Sutherland the week before that.

Ok, taken a closer look at the map & see what you mean as the distance to Skye, thanks - still think maybe Oban is a good base & we'll probably leave Skye for another year.
