EbayISAPI.dll what is it??

Options
Every time I open Ebay up as a new web page I get a box popping up prompting me to save this dll file. Can anyone shed any light on this and explain what it is.

My Ebay has gone really slow and buggy too. Pages taking forever to open and load up. I'm on 10mb BB and don't have this problem on other pages only Ebay.

You have probably got some caching problems. Try clearing out your temporary internet files and make sure you are not running low on hard drive space.

You're using Firefox I guess, I get this sometimes with eBay and Tesco.com. Just close the window and click again, usually works second time round.

a .dll file is a system file on the ebay servers which performs several tasks at once.. These are tasks unique to ebay outside of what a normal server can do, hence they wrote their own pieces of code and stored them as a dll.

When you're using ebay, everytime you go from page to page (in most cases) you will send your information through this dll and it will then give you the info back you've requested.

Sometimes browsers other than IE get confused and instead of rendering the information sent back by the .dll file when you've moved from page to page, they instead try to actually download the .dll file itself.

Generally this will be a temp problem, and as ebay are constalty tweaking that .dll file it will probably correct itself shortly.
