I press the microphone icon on the right end of the google search bar on my phone, I say "call home" and it does a search for "call home" rather than calling home.

Similarly, "text home" opens a text with subject: home, rather than with To: home.

Home is in the address book. Does same for all other names in the address book.

Android 4.0. Any thoughts?

Have you added it as a 'phonetic' name in contact options?

I found this, except it didnt make any difference......
GOOGLE SEARCH INSTEAD OF CALLS ETC – FIX! – anyone whose getting google search results instead of calls, or texts not working properly, you need to sync all your phone contacts to your google account. this will fix your problems. you can do this by backing up your contacts to internal or sim. and then deleting and restoring them. when restoring you have the option to create contacts under phone or google account, choose google account.

Easiest way to check what contacts are on you Gmail account is to open gmail in a browser on a computer, and check your contacts there.

Top left, the word Gmail in red, with a little triangle. Click the triangle than select Contacts.
