I got a parking eye letter today - help?

Yes it does help so keep it safe, I would take a photo of it or scan it in so you have a record of it. Put it this way if you shopped at the retailer there is no possible loss, parking eye on receipt of it should cancel it, they would be mad to take you to a small claim.
But besides that, go to the retailer and demand that they sort it out, show them your receipt and demand & insist that this to be cancelled, don't be fobbed off by them. Tell them that you will go to the press about this. If they are a big retailer chances are they have a Facebook and twitter presence, embarrass them with your story

Thanks that's all very helpful. The last one of these I got was last summer so I ignored with confidence but I'm not so sure now!0

Parking Eye seem to allow some appeals where a copy of a receipt over about £30 is produced. So appeal and send them a copy - DO NOT say you were at a friend's flat! You really shouldn't just spend 6 years worrying about a possible small claim, when you CAN get this cancelled at POPLA within weeks!
Even without a receipt you'd have grounds for appeal. Reason being, you are misunderstanding what constitutes a winning POPLA appeal - strangely, it is nothing to do with what happened on the day!
Here you go, my post here gives links and a summary of what makes a strong POPLA appeal - NOTHING about mitigating circs there at all:

...here's one which has just won at POPLA; simply because PE don't like showing their contracts! You HAVE to mention it in your POPLA appeal though:

Appeal.
Then tell us if you get an acceptance or an EYE01 template 'computer says no' reply with POPLA code. Do not word the POPLA appeal without help, if you want to win.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This £30 lark from parking eye is such a crock, and they know it! If it ever got in front of a judge I can see them being done for contempt. You are a customer no matter how much you spend, what the hell it's got to do with them how much you spend is beyond me.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Especially as that £30 is not mentioned on the notices in the car park. How on earth can you agree to that particular T&C if you haven't had sight of it.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

If they had a £30 minimum spend to use the car park on their signs, there will be a lot of empty shops, and a lot more bankrupt businesses! I can't imagine any business committing financial suicide like this. I would hazard a guess that this made up figure is solely parking eye's doing, and no such contract exists. I would be interested in what popla says about it.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

It seems from reading this forum that people are being taken to court.
Just another step in the 'threat-o-gram' chain I suspect, trying to get a few more to pay up as POPLA appeals and increased knowledge of their dodgy legal position amongst the population are starting to hit their coffers. They will probably pull out of any well defended cases before court and be looking for a few defaults so they claim they've "won" cases. They have to be careful though, if they pull out of too many cases they risk action against themselves as 'vexatious litigants'.0 -
Thanks so much! It was £43
my weekly shop thank goodness. Ok I'm going to appeal on that basis and nothing else and see how I get on. I will update! 0 -
It worked! Sent a copy of my receipt and they have cancelled the ticket. Thank you all!0

My wife has recieved a deman for £40 from parking eye after visitng aldi twice in one day. Each time she parked for 30 mins or less, but the letter show my wife entering at 14.13 and then leaving 4 hours later so they are saying she parked for four hours.
Of course, we re not going to pay it. She doesnt have receipts. Who keeps rceipts for food?
We ve just eritten to parking eye telling them the facts, and i ll post an update on what they say.
Has anyone else had this problem of visitng aldi twice? It would be good to quote other parking eye errors if push comes to shove and they start to threaten us.
