Car Hire Excess Insurance

Hi,

I haven't seen any guide about insurance for Car Hire Excess. I'm planning to go abroad in August and I'm renting a car - although the quote I received for removing the excess cover is incredibly high. I did a quick research and there are 2 or 3 companies which offer a very good rate. Are they safe to use? Has anybody here got any experience with them?

Thanks!

Most are perfectly safe to use.

The one key difference with them -v- CDW from the hire company is that you must pay the excess first and then claim it back from the insurer so if you do buy it separately just make sure you have the funds to actually pay the excess.
