  • I found the folder and have deleted it. My system seems to be pristine now and I've successfully managed to click on links in both IE and Firefox.

Thank you for giving your time and your expertise so generously.

    Kind regards

    No problem.

Uninstall these old versions of Java.

    Java(TM) 6 Update 24
    Java(TM) 6 Update 26 (64-bit)

Incidently, you have the most recent version of Java installed, but the 64bit (x64) version.
    Java 7 Update 21 (64-bit)
If you need it installed in your browser (firefox) you should have the 32bit (x86) version installed as your firefox is 32bit (x86).
    Mozilla Firefox 21.0 (x86 en-US)

Finally, run OTM one last time.
    • Double-click OTM.exe
    • Click the CleanUp! button
    • Select Yes when the Begin cleanup Process? Prompt appears
    • If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes
    • The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself

Then create a restore point and delete the old ones and you're done!

    Create a restore point: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows7/create-a-restore-point

Delete all but the most recent restore point:

I'll do that - this really is a learning curve for me! Thank you once again.

No worries - it's not as daunting as it looks - any questions just ask. :)

Thank you for everything you have done to help, waddler_8. I followed all your instructions as above - and I'm surprised I managed it! All down to your good tuition and advice.

I'm ready for bed now after a very worthwhile evening's 'work!'.

    Kind regards,
