ACER Laptop Problems

Had to purchase a new laptop a few weeks ago and decided to get one with windows 8 which is driving me mad, the cursor keeps jumping all over the page when I type it also highlight the text and delete it. It is not a touch pad.
This was not a cheap laptop and I will take it back if I cannot fix it.
Any ideas anyone please :T

In the past month (I need a new Laptop) I've purchased TWO Acer laptops, (one of them the model you mention) on the strength that my husband's Acer aspire (3 years old) has been fault free. BOTH had hardware problems; one only 1 of the 3 USB ports worked, the other kept dropping Internet connection. One from AcerDirect, the other from Amazon. Both windows 8 (oh I hate it sooooo much) and both had the ultra-sensitive touchpad you're talking about. If you go to controlpanel/touchpad, you can slow it *slightly* - but not much at all. I found on the Acer user group other owners complaining of the same thing, as well as dropped internet connection! If at all possible, if it was mine, I'd return it. Have you been on Acer live-chat tech support? They *might* help. I'm about to purchase a Samsung, under £500 with a 5 YEAR Samsung warranty (hardware). Good luck!

Hi,
sounds very much like you're touching the trackpad whilst you type. Suspect this makes it unsuitable for the way you use a laptop so returning it would be your best option. As an alternative, there may be a function button on your laptop allowing you to enable/disable the trackpad, which you could use, but it's not ideal of course.

Suggest if you're returning it that you try out typing on other new laptop candidates to avoid this problem on your next choice!

You are partially right danthemoneysavingman, but it IS ultra sensitivity. I found others complaining of the same thing on various forums.
