I hope this is the right section and apologize in advance if I posted in the wrong section.

I need some advice on how to find the best deals when it comes to grocery and mozzarella is one the first things I'd like to save some moneys on.

So far I found that galbani mozzarella is the best one in terms of quality so until I found a better one, I'd like to stick to this brand.
Having said that, I found the cheapest galbani mozzarella for £1.50 (250g).
Is it there any way to beat this price? I mean vouchers, discounts or other methods such as 2 for 1 deals etc. is it there any website that can help me find these sort of deals quickly?

Thank you

I use mysupermarket.co.uk to compare prices. Asda at £1.50 does look to be the cheapest

@jim, yes this is the tool i used so far but sometime there are offers like if you spend £12, you get some £ back or similar things which ultimately reduce the overall price of the items that were bought;this, unfortunately is not something that works in mysupermarket

    Thanks Nile

anotheruser : not sure what you mean by that.

Watch out at Tesco, quite often you get mozzarella within 3 for 2 deals when they come on in the chilled sections. Currently its fresh chilled italian products but was recently cheese. I tend to stock up on Parmesan when that comes on. Tesco also the best for discount codes, I generally get extra points or money off every shop even if it is just 25p. £5 this week after spending £40 last week. Works out fine if you shop there regularly and you always spend over £40 anyway, just a bonus. This offer should still be running for a while.

Asda are good and I like shopping with them but there are never any vouchers anymore, and depending on what I buy/offers Tesco can work out the same if not cheaper with additional vouchers on top.

I always use mysupermarket, and click through topcashback to them every time and earn 25p each shop. Still an extra £1 a month/£12 a year.

It is worth looking in the pound shops sometimes, in the 99p shop near me a couple of months ago they had 1kg packs of Mozzarella (galbani, I think from memory, it was definitely an Italian brand) for 99p.

I bought three 1kg packs, cut them into 125g blocks and froze them, it worked out to 12.5p per 125g.

Bit hit and miss way of getting it though

Personally I prefer stores to be more straightforward; instead of giving vouchers,2 for 1 deals, the should just keep the prices low.
Tesco makes a lot of these deals where I've noticed that asda keeps its prices low.
The latter is a lot better as you don't have to spend your time hunting vouchers, deals and other stuff.

@cazj , thank you, I wasn't aware that they started selling mozzarella as well :)
However not sure about whether it's worth buying fresh food from them. The reason why I'm saying this is because mozzarella has an expiry date but in reality it should be consumed right after it has been made or withing 48h because this is the only time it keeps all of its flavor and elastic structure.
Obviously it's not possible to get mozzarella right after it's been made (for obvious reasons) but I've noticed that pound shops tend to have foods that are extremely close to the expiry date :/ (I recently bought bueno chocs from there as they are cheap)

Lidl's mozzarella is nice, quite delicate but nice (I believe it's the same they sell in their Italian stores).
If you want to buy decent stuff make sure it's proper mozzarella made in Italy no the German or Danish rubbish!
Also mozzarella is white and ball-shaped, it's not a pale yellow compact brick that you slice, I can't work out why the name is not protected.

What is the pale yellow compact brick of mozzarella then that I see in Sainsbury's ?

Its a serious question as I always thought the brick was mozzarella but in a different form.
