DFDS ferry terminal at North Shields.

Does anyone who has used this Ferry Terminal recently, know how close it is to a Metro Station that would take us direct to Newcastle Airport. Thanks - sally

sallysaver you would have to get the Nexus Route 19 bus from Royal Quays to the interchange station at Northumberland Park Backworth. Take the yellow line via Four Lane Ends and get off at South Gosforth station cross over the bridge and get the green line to the Airport. As shammyjack says check this out with Nexus.

Personally I'd be taking a bus to Wallsend Metro, Metro to Monument then change for the Metro for the Airport

or for ease just take the 327 to Newcastle station, then Metro to the airport

Thanks for the replies folks. I had already seen the Metro maps and had basicly got my bearings, just sometimes there are easier ways which a non local doesn't know of. I could see I would have to change metro lines at some point, I was just secretly hoping that you got off the DFDS ferry, crossed over the road into a metro station and got off at the airport. Ah such is life. Only in this position because Jet2.com have cancelled the return leg of our Amsterdam-Newcastle booking and KLM only have business class left - OUCH! Regards - sally

As mentioned the route 19 bus will take you straight there. You can also walk from Meadowell metro station, it would take approx 15 mins.
