When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. Hugs to ally. I'm probably going to be in a similar boat soon. Been on notice of redundancy for over 3 years now, and keep getting short term extensions, but it seems that this one might be my last.

Debt free since December 2015. It can be done
