Wow Karb that's amazing - good luck!

Today is the first actual day I have given myself off since went part time - as have pretty much done full time with lots of supply teaching! So big hopes for today.
    So far
-Got up and did 2 hours of work.
-Joined a new union - offering membership for teachers free until next year! Thank you very much! £114 saved!!!

    Need to do:
-Pack up kitchen stuff as this house being rented out so we are having kitchen redone at weekend
-Use up food from stores so LSD
-Bit more work... Maybe this eve!
-Watch the Lfilm Ihave had for about 6 weeks doh! what a waste!
-Pack a few things that can go out the way
-Work out what cosmetics I have and make a list so don't risk buying any more! Have packed so many things over last few weeks can't remember what I have got anymore!
    -Go to library
    -List more on fleabay
-See a friend and her new baby!!!

    Have a good day y'all :)

  • GOod morning all,

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Thanks to Josie for starting the thread - very bright and breezy ;) and hurrah for lots of posts on the thread :j

Welcome to Karen and Dorsetdame, this is a wonderful place with lovely supportive people :D

Today is paperwork day for me.

    Other little things:

    All meals from stores
    A bit of flylady
Wash and dry kids bedding on airers - maybe outside if the rain stays away
Heating - I had to give in yesterday the house was SO cold! Aiming to keep it OFF wherever possible though and fingers crossed for sunshine and warmth
LSD - need bread and toilet roll. I can't believe how much of these items we go through!
Checked banks. Moved money into various pots. (could do with a few more pots though)

Hope everyone has a good day x

    Hi guys

I made £51 this lunchtime :D – cashed £40 cheque, cashed £10 winning lotto ticket (bought 2 more so £8 gain ;)) and took a top back I bought yest and got a cheaper one instead - £3 refund. Happier now.

Also planning on taking back another 2 vest tops I bought yest and don’t need – another £7 better off…

And wearing a cardi I already have to cousin’s wedding instead of buying a new one I saw for £21 – so really another £30 better off. :) And then I don’t need to buy new shoes either.

Also have another cheque for £37 that I haven’t cashed yet – must remember tomorrow.

Renewed library books so I won’t get charged.

Booked mum a bus rather than a train – saving her £70+ :T – She will be a M3gabus convert like me :D

Booked myself in for 15 beauty treatment at friend’s house this weekend (girly weekend pj pamper party – v excited) instead of booking a 30 min treatment - £15 saved

Bought booze for p-a-r-t-y at @ldi – I will be taking a P1mms knock off for £5.99 and some other booze I have at home.

    Happy Monday y’all :T

PS - so that means yesterday on my shopping trip I bought 3 tops - £5.99 and 2 @ £2.99 and a cardi/jacket type thing for £27 in 40% sale.

I'm going to live with that... All paid in cash :D

    Hi Monday Money-savers,
A very nice weekend, but a mixed one on the spending front. It was my birthday so we did go out on a day trip (2 for 1 entry voucher) & we took a picnic, but we did also go for a meal in the evening. Also picked up a free almost £4 magazine as there were piles of them just there for the taking! Don't mind if I do!
    So today...a busy one:
*Forgot to set washer for overnight Economy 7 wash (as had been on the damson gin, lol!) BUT did hang out all the washing to blow dry without recourse to putting heating on indoors.
*Made a loaf & bread rolls to do us the next few days.
    *Dinner as per meal plans.
*Veggie all watered & checked over. No problems apart from a bit of lettuce-nibbling, so must hunt for slugs later on.
*Mr f is off this week & busy decorating so decided I'd have a big declutter. Lots of stuff found for ebay listing. Will get it all photographed tomorrow.
*Have given the lounge a facelift just by moving a bit of furniture around, bringing some different cushions out of my textiles cupboard & changing around bookshelves & stuff out on display. It looks really 'freshened up' & no money spent! (wouldn't mind a new rug though if I was to see anything not too expensive - there are some silly prices about).
    *Did surveys
*Paid credit card bill in full.
    Still to do:
*Have a look at my monthly personal spends budget as I think I've made an error in my sums & ripped myself off!!
*Get out my fabric box & see if a lovely piece of fabric I bought last year will be big enough to make new guestroom curtains.
Think that's everything. @Stitchywitch Thanks for your tips the other day about sewing stretchy jersey. I hadn't even heard of 'ballpoint needles' so will definitely look to acquire one as soon as I feel brave enough to buy the fabric to try & make this dress! I've often been the 'Go-to person' for people wanting their knitting errors sorted out or knitting patterns explained, but my dressmaking just never seems to go according to plan! Practice makes perfect, though, I guess!

Erm, not a very DFW day today,

I walked out of my job...:(...I'd stuck it for three years, hating every minute, and this morning I couldn't take another second...either the job had to go or my sanity would've gone. I chose to keep my sanity.

So today has been spent starting to make plans for the future...all suggestions welcomed.
