chrome/gmail help

after yonks of probs i have switched from firefox and incredimail to chrome and gmail. im quite happy but i cant get my gmail to open when i click on an email link. i have done the thing on chrome with the settings but when i open the advanced settings etc the box when it opens is empty. also on the default progs i can only get windows live mail and it wont change can anyone help please

Can you not use Windows Live Mail to connect to your Gmail account?

Sorry but I can't really help - I use Outlook at home (part of MS Office) to connect to Gmail, and if I click on a link then Outlook opens.

When you open Gmail in Chrome, you should get a little icon [a bit like 2 diamond shapes overlapping] next to the bookmark [star] icon and the zoom [magnifying glass] icon in the address bar
If you click this, there should be an option to use Gmail as the default

I had mega problems trying to use IncrediMail with Firefox. Ended up ditching IncrediMail in favour of Firefox.
