Can anyone help?
Friend has new (refurbished, bargain bought as recommendation from thread on here) lappy. Can't see the unsecured network in the house (can see another, secured, network). Side by side with this one, this lappy can see many more networks than the new lappy.
We've been on to Windows and checked for updates to driver - no joy. Any other suggestions? Profuse thanks to all who attempt to help!

Just as a matter of interest, we subsequently discovered that this laptop had no sound card. It was also scratched on the lid.
THe good news is that the supplying company were INCREDIBLY helpful when we phoned. The computer should not have been supplied without a sound card, or scratched. They are replacing it
