Santander 2 Year FIXED RATE ISA

Options
Hi,

i opened the Santander 2 year fixed Rate ISA at 4% last Year...I have about £25,000 in there built up over the years. I was told at the time that i wouldnt be able to add money tothe ISA for the 2 year term....however looking online and it is letting me add this years money too it! Should i go for it and add this years £5640?...or is this not allowed?

Thanks for reading,

Advice appreciated!

I would start worrying that you've got the wrong account.

I had exactly the same issue with the Halifax. I was on a fixed rate ISA but I was allowed to add funds online. I then got a letter telling me I could not do it and they took it upon themselves to put the money into a lower rate ISA.
I kicked up a fuss and the Halifax agreed to give me the higher rate for the new ISA.

I have the same 2 year fix with Santander, and the on-line banking system does show that it will allow you to add this years allowance to the existing account. BUT, when you actually try and do it the transaction will fail and advise you to call their ISA dept who will tell you it can't be done.

    I know, I tried !
