Authority to go to court

Been thinking about this for some time, I have never seen anyone going to court for an invoice from parking at a Tesco and Asda, do you think that the parking companies are allowed to issue a claim from these locations?
Tesco normally has Highview and Asda has Smart Parking, Morrisons has various companies, and I recall a recent parking eye one, the only case I can remember is from a Sainsbury last year.
Perhaps somebody who are helping with claims right now and previously could say whether they have done a supermarket ticket ?

When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

The ppcs won't risk it with a high profile shop, in case the case goes terrible and it gets reported in the mainstream media. As it won't be "highview takes customers to court for parking invoice' it will be 'tesco takes customers to court for leaving site of a community car park' or 'tesco takes disabled customer to court for parking charge'
Using tesco as an example.0 -

They are all either retail parks, pub or church car parks, or public car parks run by PPCs.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -
Are they all the CEL ones ? Or have you done some parking eye ones as well ? Out of interest how many claims in total of each are there ? I hope people are keeping count. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

We're keeping a record of claim numbers, defendant names and key dates, so will be able to publish some useful stats once we know whether any of these go all the way to a hearing.

Judging by the numbers I've seen here and on pepipoo.com, they have already exceeded the numbers quoted to the DOT as a reason for getting POPLA.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I've currently got 17 "live" cases, and none of them relate to incidents at one of the big supermarkets.
They are all either retail parks, pub or church car parks, or public car parks run by PPCs.
I can't (well I can really) believe that Churches have stooped to using PPC's.
So much for community spirit...0 -
