Printer for printing black and white only

I need a printer for printing work sheets at home. It will only ever be printing text so won't need colour. I've been looking on line at printers and reviews and I'm getting more and more confused. I would really appreciate any advice. It doesn't have to do anything fancy or be too techy, needs to be reasonably priced and use cheapish ink. It'll never be used for anything other than printing text.
Many thanks

Forget ink and get a laser, I got a Samsung ML-1865 from Tesco for about £35 when it was on offer.0

+1 you need a laser. You can get a Brother TN-2010 in Argos for £49.99, advantage is even Brother original toner cartridges are only £29, compatibles may even be cheaper.

Spot on. I have had repeated good success with the Samsung line of cheap laser printers at both home and work. Decent re-manufactured toners are dirt cheap too but be careful not to buy rubbish ones. You can pick up the Samsung ML2165 from Amazon for £49.99.0 -
Another vote for the Samsung laser. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Sorry to be a pain:o Printer arrived today. I'm able to set it up using a USB cable but have no idea how to set it up for wireless. The instructions are useless and don't help at all. It's the Samsung ML-2165. Not the end of the world if I can't do it but would be handy. Many thanks

Did you get the ML-2165 or ML-2165W?
One will work wirelessly, the other will not.
The 'W' costs £10 more from Amazon.0 -
Set it up via USB first and then do the wireless side. It's no different to connecting any wireless device you your network. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
