Is the Asda Shop Assistant Right ?

Hi All,

Popped into my local Asda today. Bought a product (amongst others), went to cashier till to pay, charged the wrong amount for product, immediately queried with cashier, called 'manager' who then went away to check amount, came back to advise me that wrongly charged, charged me then correct amount, I then asked whether I was eligible for £5 (or is it £3) incorrect charge voucher/coupon/giftcard ? I was advised that I wasn't as I had't left the store and the mistake had been corrected at the cashier till ?

Could someone please advse me whether this is correct or not ?
:)Have a beer!

  • Unless you paid the wrong amount then no, you noticed at the till before paying and then paid the correct amount so they have not overcharged you.

Its £2 but you only get one if you let the transaction go through and then go to Customer Services. If you get it corrected at the checkout then you don't get a voucher.

Thanks for confirming. No wonder that I normally shop at Tesco rather than Asda ?

Yes, damn those people doing their jobs well.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

Unfortunately, this makes it financially advantageous, if morally questionable, to shut up and pay up at the time.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)
