Non-Sterling Transaction fees

in Credit cards
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but recently I have noticed I have been charged for making online purchases that are not in sterling. All my credit cards seem to have this fee, with this in mind what's the best way to avoid having to pay this fee? Would purchasing non-sterling items with Paypal be a better alternative?

Paypal will have its own fees and exchange rate - not necessarily any better than your cards.
If it's going to be regular, get yourself a card that doesn't charge fees0 -
