This reminds me of one of the most bizarre things I have ever witnessed. Our car was parked in the driveway, a slight incline that pointed towards next door's front garden. Standing in the lounge I happened to glance out at the car, and at that moment the handbrake mysteriously disengaged. The car started rolling back towards the neighbour's garden...
Similar happened a few times when we lived on a road with steep drives on one side.

One neighbour twice had his car roll down his drive and demolish his garden wall. Fortunately both times nobody was hurt.

Another recently arrived neighbour left his two young kids in the car while he went to get something. One of the kids released the handbrake and the car, a big and heavy old Jaguar, rolled down the drive, across the road, into the property opposite and smashed in to the kitchen wall.

Again fortunately the kids were ok and nobody else was hurt.

The damage to the house and car was considerable.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
My husband was gardening one afternoon when someone poked their head over the fence to inform him that our car had rolled off the drive, across the road, hit the low stone wall opposite and was now completely blocking the main road. How it didn't hit anything as this happened, I have no idea...

the joy of my scenic is when i switch my engine off it automatically applies the hand brake. As i have said in my previous post this does not help my wife's car that i tend to leave the hand brake off.
