Do you put your references on your cv, or do you "references on request". Thanks

I was told unless super impressive then on request as the space is better used on something else.

On request or I think I have nothing at the moment just due to space constrictions

Better to use the space to sell your skills and experience.

Certainly do not include contact details for referees on any speculative CVs you send out or put online for anyone to see.

Your referees should be provided only when you are happy for the people or organisations to be contacted about a particular role. You then tell the referees (named individuals) who they can expect to receive a reference request from and, for the referees that really know you (rather than HR departments), let them know if there is anything you would like them to mention.

    On request.

That way you can use different referees for different types of jobs.

I have 'References available on request' too because I use mine for spec letters and just adapt it for different sectors.

Unless the rest of your CV suggests you'd have trouble getting references at all, I wouldn't mention them.

If your CV is entirely skills based and you've no employment history, I would put that references are available on request. Once there's an employment history on there, I'd assume prospective employers will know they can have references if they want them.

I say I have reference as I am out of work and I am sure a lot if not all employers think you do not want to work, have been sacked, walked out, or do not have any that's why you are not working so I tell them I have 3.
