Central Heating Timer Thermostat - Recommendation Please?

I was looking to buy a 7 day digital programmer to allow much more control over timing and temp. I've seen some previous posts on here for the Honeywell CM907 or the wireless equivalent CM927 which date back to 2011. Are there are newer products which are recommended or should I look at these. Are they easy enough to install yourself? We currently have a really old style timer which we'd like to replace.

I'd recommend either version (I have the CM907). Easy enough to install yourself if you have basic DIY ability. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The latest one is the CMT927.
I always recommend and fit this.0 -

The receiving module is wired to the boiler. The sender transmits wirelessly to it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thank you will look into this, is there much different between the two models? Are they both straight forward to fit. Currently have the very old old type thermostat. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If you have an existing wired one, then there is little purpose to retrofitting a wireless one unless you want to be able to move the sender from room to room.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The current one is an old one which lets me set the time (AM & PM for the whole week). I would quite like one which allows me to set it for different times on Sat & Sun. Other than that it is functioning (touch wood). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Then a wired one will do the job perfectly well and will be easier to install.
The Honeywell's can be programmed per day and with 6 time zones in each day.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
