Light in the box review

Warning

LightinThebox DotCom is a rip off. Poor quality goods at high quality prices. The price you see is not what you pay as there is import duty on top which is about 30ish%. They do not post bad reviews only the good ones of which there are few.

Avoid at all costs.

I take it you missed this on their website?

    "
In some cases, there will be VAT or other taxes, customs duties or fees levied by your destination country. Additional charges for taxes or customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs and taxation policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.

Please note that we are unable to list items as a gift or write an amount lower than the actual product price on customs forms."

  • Pretty much what maninthestreet said. You buy from another country, you risk customs charges.

They also have the right to publish whatever reviews they like.

My sister in law to be got her dress from there and it was gorgeous and had no problems at all.

I ordered a pair of lovely boots from there a couple of years ago, had to pay about £6-£7 extra delivery fee when they arrived though, but hey, my boots are still looking fantastic after wearing them for almost two winters straight so I'm not fussed about the extra charge :D
