Aqua acceptance or not

I am new to this but think this is best place to ask a question about Aqua acceptance. Having been trying to improve my credit rating I have had a RISE credit card for 7 months now paying on time. I thought I would try to get an Aqua Advance card and close the RISE card because it will not allow increases in credit limit over £300. I applied online to Aqua and was accepted and received the credit agreement to sign which I returned 10 days ago.
The RISE card statement is just about due and I was wondering if I would be safe to pay it off and close it or await the Aqua card arrival to ensure that I am going to actually be allowed a card from them.

RISE increased my OH's card from £300 to £500 in February, had the card a year. So RISE DO increase limits.
I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.

Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!
  • When I telephoned RISE customer service department 2 weeks ago I was told that there was a £300 limit on their card which would never increase. Obviously, it seems I was given incorrect information. Still feel the Aqua card with UK customer service would be better if I get it. Thank you for your reply anyway.

Either way, I would keep both cards. 2 or 3 is a minimum, to ensure you don't get caught out when you need one.
