Facebook for business

Hi everyone, I deleted my personal facebook account a couple of months ago due to the usual, can't be arsed with attention seeking Jeremy Kyle-esque family members making fools of themselves, but since I have been out and about talking to other business owners they have all said "Oh aren't you on facebook, we are we find it helps - you really should you know" My business is very niche and creative and is an amalgamation of many different elements so it really is hard to target marketing at the moment, I have heard distant rumblings about google+ but it would seem that people find it very hard to use, any thoughts please, I would be most grateful.

Join facebook as a business page instead of a personal page. I'm not sure if you need a personal account so you can admin the business one, but if this is the case just don't tell anyone.

As a business people "Like" your page instead of adding as a friend. You don't see all the feeds from people who like it, so no dramas.

And yes, it's useful to have a facebook page. Open a twitter account as well as lots of anti facebook people are on twitter instead. You can have accounts on lots of social media (including google+) and use Hootsuite to post on them all so it's easy to update.

I have a Fb business page. I went on a Facebook marketing course in November and I now get work directly as a result of Facebook.

You have auto keep at it and its the quality of your posts that are important. Don't always be selling yourself. That isn't what people want. That want to know what you are up to and what is going on in your industry. Plus, always use a picture as people will see this but won't always read the text.

I out something on there about 3 times a week. The time you put it on will also have an impact on its reach and whether it goes viral.
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.
  • Thanks for the replies, I will give it a whirl, does anyone here pay for the extra services, I have read a bit about it and most seem to think Facebook is not playing ball?
