  • Thanks EB, I think as long as I keep coming here for motivation, I will keep it going.

Got talking to a colleague about my great plan, not often I do discuss debt but I'm glad I did. She is in a similar situation but had some good ideas. Told her about the uniform tax rebate thing and she shared a tip that will save me about £15 a month in union subscriptions, I will have to contact them tomorrow.

Working today, but got Monday and Tuesday off so I plan to do something productive. Glad also as theres a situation at work that is getting me down. OH is off Monday so I hope we go out somewhere as I think she's feeling neglected with the days I've been working recently. Might use those Pizza Express vouchers!

  • Sounds like you've ended on a positive at the end of the week, which is what counts. I've had a hellish week too. Meaning I haven't made much weight loss or debt free progress.

Sorry to hear your weeks been rotten, hopefully things look better for you going into this new week.

I had a thoroughly miserable day at work, so I am very pleased to have my two days off!

Diet again, not happening, don't want to give up but this time round I seem to have no will power or focus.

  • Was out spending yesterday :(

A pint. A hotdog. Some records. A half pint on the way home.
One of the rare times that me and OH have a full day off together so we went for a wander round local music shops, spent about £24 in total.

Downloaded a free app on my phone which helps me record daily spending. I'm hoping that after a week, I can look back and target areas where I'm spending too much and try to knock it down a bit.

I also just emailed the union for them to adjust the rate of membership I pay each month. Should save me £204 a year!

I also got a thing through the post about the health benefits I get through work, which will be refunding me the lions share of my impending dentists bill. The amount they will cover has increased by £5 :rotfl: Not a fortune but I was cheering when I opened the letter lol

Waiting on our first grocery delivery from Waitrose. Always assumed they were really expensive but as always, I have stuck to the deals and offers and also have gone through Quidco which should also see me getting £10.50 cashback on this first shop. They also have a promotion on giving customers in January a free bottle of bubbly. It would be rude not to ;)

Gonna have to clean out the fish tank and have a quick tidy up today. Had porridge this morning, hoping to counterbalance that hotdog yesterday. If I have time I also want to have a play around with my camera. I bought it last year and don't get to go out with it that much. Spend most of the time taking photos of the cat in various states of disapproval.

Hoping the postie brings some good news today!

  • Don't give up on the diet. Just have a 'paused' few days to refocus. I've had a foul week. I've put on a pound, but have been spending some time looking at interval training, and rethinking my eating routine. Just try to find that focus again.

    £204 saving! That's amazing!!!

Spending time taking photos of the cat... sounds like me down to a T. Hehe.

Weird few days I've had. Completely exhausted due to new working hours and rota at work, not helped by the fact that my only day off involved going to the dentist. I really am pretty much phobic about the dentist so I didn't sleep well before or after. I may not need all the treatment the dentist first suggested, which is good.

Got £90 in £2s from this month alone so quite pleased that I made overpayments too. Although I know I could be doing more, really cutting back and being frugal, I know that doing something is better than nothing.

    Cat photo as predicted...

Awww what a cute moggy!! I will have to take a piccy of my lil monster.

Feel your pain with the dentist. I'm terrified and haven't been for about 5 years! Oopsy, doubt I'm even registered with one :o

Sorry you are so tired, but again I feel your pain. I am too, and I think it means I take my eye off the ball and my spending creeps up. I defintely waste way more money when I'm knackered! Hope work is OK...xx
