    it's the same brand as your existing one that's falling apart...

    Falling apart after 4.5yrs of constant daily use, not looked after (much), nothing done to it (repairs/maintenance) and live with 3 dogs/1 cat so clogged up with alsorts - hasnt done bad for £300!

    Overheating/switching itself off, power connector socket knackered and keeps getting hot, large crack on lid around hinge (barely holding together), horizontal line going across the bottom of the screen (distorted colours), cd drive doesnt work (also just falls out so possibly not connected internally), loose/dodgy left mouse button

    it either says something about the design quality, or the treatment, if it's the former, maybe a different brand might be a good idea.
