seller needed £ for holiday !

hi

I made a "best offer" on an item last Sunday.

When I next checked my ebay account on the evening, there was a message from the seller saying

"can you pay for this today please as i am going on holiday on Tuesday and need the money".

I paid immediately and added note to apologise and explain I hadnt realised my offer had been accepted. I paid for 1st class postage.

Anyway it has now been 6 days since I made the payment, but I havent received the item :(

I would never pester someone to pay for something to fund my holiday spends if I wasnt going to post the item before i went.

gggrrr

rant over :A

Well if he is really on holiday then you can file an INR and he won't respond...

I have come across several people who use ebay as a credit card / payday loan. They usually sell low cost items to build feedback, then sell an expensive item, which they don't send, but have taken your money to spend on something else in the meantime. When they have got paid or whatever, they refund you.

thanks zerog - i did wonder this as my offer was quite a bit lower than his buy it now price.

damn it - hope he/she has a good holiday!!

actually zerog - on thinking further - that is very clever of them isnt it? a very cheap payday loan indeed.

    clever but sly
