I know there are some here as I have seen them post about it.

Just curious about what you did and how you went about it.

I have to replace a charge limiter module in a dimplex heater (XLS12N), and it has made me think about checking over and overhauling the others.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

I have repaired / replaced a few dimplex charge limiters at my in-laws. The units were overheating caused by the contacts welding together. Replaced the first one, flicked the contacts apart and cleaned up the surfaces on the old one with a contact file and used it in the next one to fail. Had to do this to a few of them but have not touched any of the heaters for at least 6 years now so must have been a good job and saved them a few quid in the process. The only other thing I did was to give it a good hoover out everywhere I could get the nozzle, never did any preventative servicing though, if it aint broke don't fix it.

Thanks for the info. After taking aprt the faulty unit, I can see how simple/crude these devices really are.

I think I'll repair the broken unit, and just hoover the rubbish out of the remaining units.
