Lease Car - Naming the Driver

Had a look but couldn't find the answer.

I have a company car through a fleet management company and as such am not the registered keeper. I am the primary driver but a number of other people can also drive it

They have passed my details over to parking spy so have now received fan mail from them.

I was not driving the vehicle at the time.

My question is, can parking spy attempt to come back for another bite of the cherry re the driver?

If I tell PE I wasn't driving, can they then ask me to name the driver, even though I'm not the RK.

Thanks

If they can't find out the driver that is the worst scenario because - if the incident was post October 1st in England/Wales - they can then hold the registered keeper responsible (= lease company or your employer!). Guess what will happen then?! You'll have the amount deducted from your salary probably, plus an admin fee - even though your car lease t&cs may only mention real penalties. Then you'd have a grievance procedure on your hands if you wanted to refute it.

To me that's the worst thing to do!

All you have to do is challenge the fake PCN now and reply 'as if' you were the driver (but you don't have to actually tell them you were! Point being you need to hook this properly and permanently in your direction, and away from the companies, if this is still at an early stage.

Was this in England/Wales? If so you can win at POPLA and get it cancelled even if you actually did overstay (or whatever the jumped-up charge was!).

    Here's a reply I just typed earlier:

If the incident was ages ago and you've received several letters and are too late for POPLA(?) or in Scotland or NI, then ignore it until the letter chain fizzles out.
