Landlord House Sale Incentive Not Honoured

Hi all

Just some quick advice if possible. Last year my landlord wrote to me to advise they needed to sell the property I was renting and offered my a £500 incentive to help secure the sale.

I have this offer in writing which was signed by the landlord on company letter headed paper.

The only 2 conditions were that:

1) I would make the property available for visits
2) Would keep the property immaculate

However, it is now over 3 months since I moved out and the house sale has completed yet the landlord is now not responding to my emails or calls.

Is there anything I can do about this? How would I go about making a claim for this. The amount hardly seems worth the hassle but it's still £500! :(

    I've been Money Tipped!
The only real option I can see is to go down the small claims route - send the LL a letter before action giving them 14 days to honour the contract and pay you the £500. If the money doesn't arrive within that time then you go through the courts.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

Thanks for the reply. The landlord's sudden unresponsiveness has been frustrating after the instant communication during the house sale.

I'll send them a letter along with a copy of the correspondence and will see what happens.

    Cheers :)

And collect your evidence of having made the place available for viewing.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'
