Insurance Claim Advice Needed Please!!

Options
Hi

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I have had my flute stolen from the house I am renting. I do have contents insurance but my flute is not listed as a separate item.
My contents are covered up to the value of £40,000 with a single article limit of £1,500.
I have rung the company that the flute was bought from and nearly dropped through the floor when they told me the replacement value would be £5,125.00. My flute was bought by my dad for my 18th birthday 16 years ago, I never realised the value of it.
Am I right in saying that the insurance company will only pay out £1,500 or is there any possibility they may pay out more?

Any feedback would be greatly received

Check your actual policy. Some companies with valuables require you to obtain a valuation.

I would of thought you will be paid at the maximum single article value if you have your claim paid.
