There are multiple ways this can be done, and here are some options>>

    http://www.wickes.co.uk/rain-diverter-kit/invt/543003/ :)

If you want to optimise collection from the downpipe it is worth considering just diverting the downpipe using the same sized pipe directly to the Butt, but you will also have to consider that will also require an overflow from the Butt back to the downpipe or Gulley:beer:

Both too short - I need a 2metre length of pipe to connect the (already fitted) diverter to the butt !!

    Pack contains 1 x rain diverter, 1 x connector pipe and 1 x 20mm connector

Measure the "already fitted diverter" outlet pipe!

Most Aquarium/Pond retailers will sell that sort of hose. If there's one in your area.

As has been already stated, if you scoll down the page you can order the length you want when you go to checkout!

OK I am confused - the Wickes one says 20mm - the Waterbuttdirect one says 30mm - ours appears to be 25mm !!
So it looks as if it is going to have to be clear plastic hose ?

you need to measure the outlet on the downpipe or the inlet on the water butt - can you remove the one from the water butt and as suggested try an aquarium supplier ( if there is a Range near you they stock that type of stuff or a Garden Centre that does ponds)

I have four water butts, in two connected pairs, That is, one is fed by the garage drain pipe, using a standard diverter kit. The butt came complete with a hose and inlet plug.
I drilled a hole near the top, fitted another outlet plug, attached a length of hose (which turned out to be too big - but it still works), to the second butt with a slightly lower hole; so water flows in, when too full overflows to next one.
Another the other two are similarly arranged but its a manual water transfer.
Hence, I have free water to use on the garden (I'm on a water meter) and it reduces likely flooding of the nearby pond from water off the garage along the patio and into the pond!

Those diverter connectors are usually standard sizes, so a 25mm (1") would probably be the right size.
