Reclaiming credit card charges

Hi I've sent letters to some of my old credit cards to request refund charges. I've had letters back from Halifax saying that whilst the charges were over the the £12 limit ( £25 at time) they are not refunding as they are over 6 years ago and they only consider refunds on charges applied 6 years prior to receiving complaint! These cards were closed in 2007 so only just over 6 years and its only recently through looking on here into PPI misselling that I've become aware of unfair charges on credit cards.

Barclay card are an utter nightmare to deal with in relation to anything. Rejecting anything to do with PPI and credit card charges. Anyone else had same probs with Barclaycard and it it worth pursuing sending a second letter back to them? Any help or experience of similar probs would be appreciated . :-) thanks

As per step 1 of the MSE article, the credit card provider appears to be correct with regards to your claim for old credit card charges
You need to find all the fines you’ve been charged by each credit card. You can go back six years in England and Wales or five years in Scotland; these time periods are limited by law.
