Taking formula milk through airport security

Afternoon all
We're off to Spain at the end of May and i'm wanting to take 2 bottles of formula milk through security at Manchester airport.
I know i might be asked to taste the milk but i'm not sure what i do with the bottles.
Do i put them in clear plastic bags?
Do i leave them in the changing bag?
Do i put them in the tray with the other things to be scanned?
Thanks!

In my experience, security is different every time - sometimes you have to take your shoes off, sometimes you don't, sometimes you have to open up your laptop, sometimes you don't. Once I was even asked to turn it on. So it's hard to say what you should do with baby formula - the best thing to do is to ask when you get there. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

You really shouldnt be making up the formula ahead of it being needed. You can get a "formula caddy" from most places including Asda and Boots (the best ones in my opinion),it has compartments into which you count the amount of scoops you need for the bottle. Prepare your water into the bottle (boiled and cooled) and then if you need a bottle whilst in the airport, you open both the water bottle and the spout on the caddy and tip into the bottle, shake it well and offer to baby.
If security wants you to tip out the water, my experience with most airlines is that staff inflight are happy (and knowledgable) to help you prepare fresh water.
Its all best for baby and easier for you. Toss the lot in the baby bag, if security want to check it thats fine.

And you can get different ranges on Ebeast (Ive sorted by BIN and P+P&P Lowest): http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?adpos=1t3&MT_ID=11&crlp=10303194887_2113181&LH_BIN=1&tt_encode=raw&keyword=baby+formula+container&clk_rvr_id=473031254641&geo_id=31911&crdt=0&_nkw=baby+formula+container&_sop=150 -

Hello,
in the airport I work in I ask any passenger with baby milk or sterile water to place the bottles in to the plastic tray upright (not in a clear liquids bag as they don't really fit) and tell them that they'll need to take a sip once they've been through the x-ray.
it might be different at Manchester but that's how we do it at mine. I hope it goes smoothly and you have a lovely holiday! :j0 -

lol You don't need to go out and buy a special "caddy" for that purpose!
Any resealable pot will do."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Thanks for all the replies.
Will be the first time we've flown with lo so I guess formula milk will be the least of my concerns!0 -
Just a thought but why not buy a few cartons of prepared milk, easy to open and poor into bottle when needed.
Have a great holiday.

I don't know why I didn't think of that, we've used the prepared SMA milk before
Guess i can just pick some up from Boots on the other side of security!
Thank you!0 -
When we fly to Orlando we order cartons from boots after security or we take powder and ask for boiling water on board. Powder is easier overall... Just have a few clean bottles and you're sorted!!
Much better than carrying made up formula.0
