    Started doing mine but was too difficult as eat organic/wild and therefore mostly seasonal.We barely eat any processed stuff either.. organic mayo, stock cubes, Weetabix and porridge for OH, plus organic jam/preserve for his porridge.

    I go to the butchers monthly I would normally buy
    5lb mince
    6 large chicken breasts
    2lb pork link sausage
    3lb stewing steak
    8 burgers
    8 slice sausage
    800g bacon
    8 black pudding
    1 joint of meat either beef or pork
    1 large chicken

    I then do a large shop at Lidl every 4-6 weeks depending on how fast I run out of stuff this would normaly consist of

    15 tins tomatoes
    8 packs passatta
    10 tins kindney beans
    12 tins baked beans
    8 tins tuna
    1 ltr olive oil
    1 lit sunflower oil
    about 2 kilo of different dried pasta
    1kilo basmati rice
    1kilo couscous
    jar of sweet and sour sauce
    jar of some type of curry sauce
    3 packs pitta breads
    3 packs of wraps
    12 loaves of wholemeal bread
    2 loaves white bread
    washing up liquid
    washing powder
    handwash
    tomato ketchup
    brown sauce
    salad cream
    mayo
    stock cubes
    plain and self raising flour
    icing sugar
    caster sugar
    granulated sugar
    260 teabags
    2 large jars coffee
    10 packs biscuits such as custard creams, digestives,etc
    4 packs choc biscuits

    3 large blocks mature cheese
    6 boxes of cereal usually weetabix, and cheerios, and rice crispies
    porridge oats 1kilo
    5 kilo net of onions

    Weekly I go to Morrisons for the following.

    12 pints milk
    2 tubs cottage cheese
    2 tubs natural yoghurt
    cheese spread
    cold meat for sandwiches
    fresh fish usually salmon or haddock
    12 apples
    large net of clementines
    large bunch grapes
    12 bananas
    8 pears
    blueberries
    strawberries (or whatever berries are in season on offer)
    avacado
    1 kilo carrots
    parsnips
    cabbage
    cauliflower
    brocoli
    kiwi fruit
    melon or pineapple
    corgettes
    aubergine
    lettuce
    tomato
    cucumber
    red onion
    celery
    mushrooms
    3 peppers
    I buy the 12 kilo sacks of potatoes from Morrisons as and when I need them
    bottle of squash
    any herbs and spices that I need.
    thins like toilet roll and kitchen roll, shampoo, toothpaste when needed.

    I get my eggs from a local farm usually 12 a week
    Rolls come from the market, I buy 24 every few weeks and freeze them.

    If nothing in (never happened!), then a normal shop for us of 3 adults would be:

    1 x Chicken 1.5kg (Roast & Stirfry)
    1 x Minced Lamb frozen 500g (Shepherds pie & spagbol)
    GF Sausages
    GF Fish fingers
    Gammon joint (cook and slice for a months sandwiches/salads)
    Frozen value stirfry veggies (makes 3 meals for us)
    Frozen petit pois (will do 4-5 meals)
    Value: cabbage/carrots/parsnips/potatoes/swede/mushrooms/onions
    Value: apples/bananas/pears/grapes/cucumber/lettuce/toms

    Value Tinned toms
    Value tinned orange segments/peaches

    Makro when on offer stock up on:

    Back bacon and separate into portion bags
    Beans use 3-4 weekly
    Weetabix
    Water and refill bottles 24 for £2.99
    Marmite
    Crisps Walkers 7p a packet

    Usually reduced and frozen in bulk from Makro/supermarkets etc:

    Milk 10p pint
    Bread 20p
    Butter 50p
    Gluten Free Bread/rolls/food and freeze
    Sausages not GF and portion for DD & I

    Ebay:
    All washing powder and dishwashing powder £30 for whole year!

    OH makes up 24 yorkshires when the oven is on, then he freezes for DD & I to use.

    Always have in:
    Flour/herbs/custard powder/dried milk/dried fruit/soup/approved foods/spices/kidney beans/
    To repeat what others have said, requires education, to challenge it,
    requires brains!

    we eat better when my husband is home as he loves to cook..
    I usually just do chicken / potatoes and veg, or something simple and quick.
