Hi all,
A big glossy brochure from a "retirement specialist" company has just landed on our doormat. I've opened the envelope and noticed that it was addressed to the bloke whom I bought my house off 5 years ago. He has since left the UK to live abroad. He has made enquiries with said company to release equity from MY house!
Anybody know anything about that sort of fraud/scam??

Has he actually "made enquiries" or have you just received junk mail from a company with an out of date mailing list?0 -
You're right, it may be junk mail. It says thank you for your recent enquiry into releasing tax-free money that may currently be tied up in your home.
This is the first from this company so I'd be surprised if they would bother after 5 years.
But you have a point.
I think I just contact them and tell them the facts.0 -
I'd just put it in the bin.0

well, I just called them and I worried for nothing: Just junk mail, took his name off the list. Thanks for your replies and thanks for giving me the time of day.
all the best0
