Does LV home insurance allow a lodger?

Options
LV home insurance has just had very positive reviews from a recent Which survey which looked at handling of claims so I would like to get a quote from them later in the year.
Does anyone know whether they will insure you if you have a single lodger in the property? So few insurers (other than specialist landlord insurance) allow this. I am currently with Direct Line but want to get the discounts offered to new customers next time.

I don't want to waste time filling in details online if it will be rejected.

    Just phone and ask

    We can insure you if:-

Not made more than 2 household claims within the last 3 years.
Not been convicted of any non-motoring criminal offences within the last 5 years.
    The property...
Is of standard construction and not a listed building.
Is in a good state of structural repair.
Isn't a mobile home or is not currently unfurnished.
Has no more than 7 bedrooms.
Hasn't suffered from or is showing any signs of subsidence, landslip or heave.
Hasn't previously been flooded or is not currently under a flood warning.
Is used for domestic purposes only (having an office at home is ok).
Is permanently occupied by you or your family.
    Call us if you have
A single item worth more than £10,000.
More than £30,000 of valuable items, individually worth more than £1,500.
A pedal cycle worth more than £2,000.
An existing property insured with us.

Many manstream insures will offer cover for 1 lodger.

You probably won't be able to complete it online but get a quote and ring them.

They may want some details about the lodger - occupation, criminal convictions, bankruptcy, etc.

There also could be exclusions / endorsements on the policy - you need to check with the insurer.

We have a lodger and insurance with more than. Their only issue was with providing accidental damage cover and cover for the lodgers things. So he has no cover and we can't break things. We are all super careful in this house now!

£30 a month seemed ok for buildings and contents to me.

We have had a misunderstanding . I have not rung LV as I don't need to renew for a few months . In the past I have rung several other insurers who have said no

Have never tried them . Would not expect cover for lodger property anyway . Accidental damage never mentioned with current insurer but they will not cover for theft if no evidence of break in ! £30 sounds low to me . Where are you ?
