2013/14 ISA Investment Trusts or Unit Trusts

My wife is looking to put the full amount (£11520) in to her ISA for this year.
She does not want to invest directly into shares.
In previous years she has opted for the Fidelity FundsNetwork platform (via a Best Invest), and has numerous Funds etc.
but I wonder if some of the funds are restricted by their own
management charges etc.
Additionally a worry was having a large amount on just one platform.
This year we are thinking of investing across a number of Investment Trusts. I like the look of Aberdeen Investment Trust ISA. Maybe a drip feed over 6 months into 4/5 different I.T's.
I see from their site that they charge £24 a year for this facility.
Any views please

I like ITs, and I like Aberdeen.
Their Asian Smaller companies has been one of my best investments. You could do worse.0 -
Remember to build IT dealing costs and stamp duty into your calcs. I like IT's and hold them in preference to OEICS in the main but rebalancing can be expensive compared to funds. Note that not all IT sectors outperform OEICS and often your choice is more limited. My favourite IT's are Scottish Oriental Smaller Co's, Worldwide Healthcare and Finsbury Growth & Income.
I'm not a fan of Aberdeen but they do have a decent stable of IT's and support the IT sector well so you should be okay. IT's tend o be more volatile than funds, higher risk but better performance over the longer turn.
Best Wishes,
